Davidson Nurses
As part of the Foundation’s funding commitment to MND Smart, a portion has been allocated to create new nursing positions in five key locations across the UK, establishing a dedicated ‘Davidson Nurse’ in each area. These nurses will play a crucial role in recruiting participants for this important MND trial, making the trial more accessible to people living with MND throughout the country. The addition of these nurses will help ensure that more individuals can benefit from cutting-edge research and treatment opportunities.
The first five centres selected to host these new positions include:
- Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic (Edinburgh)
- Craigavon Area Hospital (Northern Ireland)
- University Hospital of Wales (Cardiff)
- The Royal London Hospital (Barts)
- Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham
Edinburgh Visit
The Trustees of The Alan Davidson Foundation are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to meet these nurses and celebrate this exciting development at a special event in Edinburgh in February 2025, acknowledging their important contributions to the MND trial and the broader fight against Motor Neuron Disease.
