New scholarship with the University of Edinburgh

The Foundation scholarship is now supporting the architecture school at the University of Edinburgh where Alan graduated from in 1984. The scholarship will support home students applying for the Access Edinburgh funding.

The Alan Davidson Foundation has committed to establish scholarships for University of Edinburgh students who qualify for funding through the Access Edinburgh scheme. The scholarships will support students from low-income backgrounds who have been accepted on either the BA or MA Architecture programmes and who qualify for a means-tested scholarship.

The Foundation’s annual gift of £10,000 will support one Alan Davidson Scholar for the whole duration of their six year degree course at £1,500 per scholar per annum. The University will match this amount per scholar per annum meaning each scholar will be awarded £3,000 per annum to support them during their studies.

The Alan Davidson Scholars will also receive a one-off student experience support payment of £1,000 in the first year of their studies. This payment can be spent freely, providing students with resources to enhance their university experience in ways they deem most beneficial, whether academic, personal, or professional.
