The foundation is deeply rooted in architecture, visualisation and design. The Alan Davidson Foundation is passionate about supporting the arts and architectural illustration projects with scholarships and awards.
Alan Davidson Foundation Scholarship
Alan was a great believer in education and one of his final wishes was to support a student through university to study architectural visualisation. In September 2021, the foundation set up the Alan Davidson Scholarship with the University of Kent for 3 years, supporting one home-student every year, studying for the MA Architectural Visualisation. Now the scholarship is supporting the architecture school at the University of Edinburgh where Alan studied and is part of the Access Edinburgh funding. It is awarded annually to a home-student showing great promise and talent.
The Davidson Prize
The Davidson Prize is an annual design ideas competition recognising transformative architecture of the home. The Davidson Prize rewards architecture that imaginatively rethinks the design of the contemporary home to keep pace with the times and people’s lifestyle preferences. The aim is to promote excellent design and wellbeing and the compelling communication of these solutions. Each year the prize will address a different aspect of the home. Three shortlisted teams will each receive an honorarium of £5,000 and the winner will receive a £10,000 prize.
