St John’s Hospice, is an independent charity located within the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth in St John’s Wood, providing specialised palliative care to more than 4,000 terminally-ill patients and their families every year.

In October 2021 the Foundation visited the newly refurbished 18 beds Inpatient Unit, viewed the Giving Tree sculpture with Alan’s beautiful leaf and met the team who had looked after him briefly in 2018. St John’s Hospice often welcomes MND patients in their service, these patients tend to be younger with young families. The unit has been carefully refurbished, with modern breakout areas, a playroom for children and making the most of the large windows offering great views of the beautiful garden and mature trees surrounding the hospice.

St John’s Hospice’s CEO said “your generous investment into our palliative care means that our patients can continue living fully and independently for as long as possible. It is thanks to supporters like you that we can achieve our best for patients and their families.”
