The Foundation seeks to nurture creative talent, promote inclusive and accessible design, and inspire new ideas that enrich cultural life and improve the human experience.

Alan Davidson Scholarship

The Alan Davidson Scholarship, initially established at the University of Kent and now extended to students at the University of Edinburgh, was created to provide aspiring architects and visualisers with an opportunity to pursue higher education, irrespective of their financial or social background, ensuring that talented individuals have the chance to develop their skills and contribute to the field.

The Davidson Prize

The Davidson Prize is an annual £25,000 design competition. It invites multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions addressing critical housing challenges and fostering new approaches to modern living. The competition aims to inspire thoughtful design that not only tackles pressing societal issues but also enhances human wellbeing by prioritising sustainability, inclusivity, and community engagement.

The Davidson PlayGC Bursary

The Davidson PlayGC Bursary, launched in 2024 in collaboration with PlayGC Theatre Company. It offers £60,000 in funding to support emerging playwrights and theatres. This initiative provides financial support, mentorship, and development opportunities to help bring innovative new works to the stage.

The John Ruskin Prize

The John Ruskin Prize is a renowned UK-based multi-disciplinary art award, organised in collaboration with The Big Draw. The Foundation supports the Under 26 Prize, as well as The Big Draw’s educational events programme, which runs alongside the exhibition to engage and inspire participants of all ages.
