Meet the trustees

Colin Reid

Trustee

Colin Reid was a lifelong friend of Alan Davidson, sharing their formative years at Robert Gordon’s College in Aberdeen and later studying together at the University of Edinburgh. Colin went on to complete a postgraduate degree in Petroleum Engineering at Heriot Watt University, which launched a global career in the oil industry with roles in Aberdeen, Holland, Indonesia, and London. He eventually returned to Aberdeen as General Manager of an oil exploration and production company.

Following his retirement from the energy sector, Colin has been involved in various business ventures, charitable work, and musical projects. An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys long-distance walking, hill walking, and mountain biking. Colin is married with two children and three grandchildren, and has served as a trustee of the Alan Davidson Foundation since its early years.

Jane Craik

Trustee

Jane Craik, Alan Davidson’s younger sister, grew up with him at the family home near Cults, Aberdeen. She began her professional life as a PE teacher and outdoor education instructor, working in Fife, Aviemore, and Chile before qualifying as a primary teacher. Jane went on to become head teacher at Tullynessle Primary School and later led a 400-pupil primary in Aberdeenshire. She ended her education career as an Associate Assessor for HMIe.

Alongside raising three children with her husband Alan on their family farm, she has remained passionate about child development and education. Since retiring in 2021, Jane has become a Childline counsellor, a school governor and head of education at an independent Aberdeen girls’ school, a trustee and trainer for Maths Recovery UK, and joined the board of the Alan Davidson Foundation in 2023.

Caite Healy

Trustee

Caite Healy became Financial Director of Hayes Davidson in 2001 and quickly developed a close working relationship with Alan Davidson. With a background in finance roles across diverse organisations including the Tate Galleries, Chessington World of Adventures, and the Federation of City Farms, Caite brought a strong operational skillset to the business.

In 2008, she took on the management of Alan’s personal investment portfolio and was instrumental in supporting him through his diagnosis with MND. Caite helped organise his financial affairs and played a key role in establishing his legacy. She was a founding trustee of the Alan Davidson Foundation alongside Alan and Andrew Broome in December 2014. Today, Caite also serves as a trustee for the Hayes Davidson EOT, the DNCO EOT, and Lymington Community Centre, and continues to consult widely across business and social enterprises.

Andrew Broome

Trustee

Andrew Broome began working with Alan Davidson in 2010, becoming a trusted advisor to Hayes Davidson and now chairs its Trustee Board. A partner in a leading London firm of Chartered Accountants, Andrew brings extensive expertise in finance, governance, and business strategy. He supported Hayes Davidson through its transition to an Employee Ownership Trust and continues to guide its leadership.

As a founding trustee of the Alan Davidson Foundation in December 2014, Andrew has helped steward its mission and impact from the beginning. He lives in London with his wife and two daughters, is a keen cyclist, and participates annually in the HD5K, a run organised in memory of Alan Davidson.
