Trustees visit King’s College London MND research team

In March, the Trustees of the Alan Davidson Foundation visited the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) research team at King’s College London to hear first-hand updates on the progress of Foundation-supported research.

The Trustees met with Professor Ammar Al-Chalabi, a Professor of Neurology and Complex Disease Genetics at King’s College London; Dr Jemeen Sreedharan, a neurologist with a research interest in TDP-43, a DNA/RNA-binding protein that is dysregulated in motor neuron disease and dementia; and Leon Crowley, a PhD student whose work is partially funded by the Foundation.

During the visit, the team shared exciting developments from their current projects. The conversation also highlighted the importance of long-term, flexible funding in enabling research teams to explore new avenues and move quickly when breakthroughs emerge.

The Foundation is proud to support the work being carried out at King’s—a centre of excellence in MND research—and to contribute to the development of future leaders in the field, such as Leon.

We are deeply grateful to the team at King’s for their time and dedication and look forward to continuing our support as their work progresses.
